At Hershey, everything we do fuels our purpose of Making Moments of Goodness for our consumers, and every employee helps to make that purpose a reality.  We cannot achieve that purpose if our employees don’t have the tools, environment, and resources they need to bring it to life.

Goodness starts with fostering the right work environment where every employee feels valued and motivated. That’s why we are focused on strengthening employee experiences – from integrating togetherness efforts into everyday operations, expanding employee wellbeing programs, to celebrating their achievements.

Development For All

Investing in our people is essential to our business success.  Our Development for All philosophy means that we create meaningful growth opportunities for employees at every level of the organization. Development at Hershey means empowering our people to learn and practice new ideas, behaviors and skills. Enabling our people to develop themselves for tomorrow while executing with excellence today is critical to our long-term success. We know from listening that career growth and development are priorities for employees, and we have implemented these programs in response to this feedback.

Pathways to Growth

Our Pathways to Growth career accelerator program is created for pre-managerial talent and Veteran hires.  We use multiple channels to achieve this, including:

  • Training and resources on leadership and well-being
  • Investing in development for all colleagues with training on commercial skills and career building

RISE Program

Our Relate, Inspire, Strategize and Empower (RISE) frontline leadership development program for supply chain leaders is designed to enable talent to upskill on 10 competencies.

Mentoring for Career Growth

Our internal Mentor Match platform enables employees to connect with mentors across the organization, fostering knowledge sharing and creating development relationships that support career advancement.

Veterans Welcome

We are proud to have supported the U.S. military since sending chocolate bars to troops in World War I. The legacy continues by supporting military members and their families as they transition to civilian life. We work closely with several organizations to recruit talent, including Orion HirePurpose®, Hiring Our Heroes and MilitaryHire.com.

Building Future Talent

We continue to deepen our partnership with the Milton Hershey School (MHS), a residential school founded in 1909 by Milton Hershey, serving over 2,100 underserved students from pre-K through grade 12 across 35 states. We help students and alumni build the necessary skills and experiences to create generational change through career-focused work streams.

Business Resource Groups

Our eight employee-led Business Resource Groups (BRGs)  are cornerstones of our supportive company culture, contributing key input as we consider company policy, moving key business initiatives forward and developing colleagues. Our BRGs have always been open to all regardless of affinity.
